Mobility Ventures Appoints Arlan Harris as Venture Partner
November 15, 2011, Dallas, TX – Mobility Ventures, a leading global venture capital and advisory firm, today announced the appointment of corporate executive and entrepreneur Arlan Harris as Venture Partner. Harris will serve as a member of the firm’s executive team and will work with new entrepreneurs and management teams focusing on security, communication technologies, applications & services, including social networks.

Arlan Harris is a veteran in the high-tech industry with more than 25 years of experience. Harris most recently was the Sr. Vice President and General Manager of 3Com’s Security subsidiary TippingPoint, Inc. the market leader in Enterprise Network Security Solutions. Harris is the Managing Partner of LifeGate Venture Capital and serves as a Venture Partner at Mobility Ventures focusing on security, communication technologies, applications & services, including social networks. He has also served as an Executive in Residence with Austin Ventures where he focused on emerging opportunities for converged communications. As a successful business leader he has created value for some of the world’s largest organizations including Siemens Subscriber Networks the worldwide leader in DSL modems and Customer Premise Equipment where he served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager. He is also the past founder, president and CEO of a venture funded early stage telecommunications company Netensity.
