IOGEAR Selects Alereon to Provide Solutions for Certified Wireless USB
First designs with Alereon silicon to be compliant with the Wireless USB 1.0 Specification
INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, Beijing, China – April 17, 2007 – Alereon, Inc., the ultrawideband (UWB) technology leader for mobile WiMedia solutions based on Certified Wireless USB, today announced it has been selected by IOGEAR, a provider of all-in-one computer connectivity solutions, to provide wireless USB technology that meets the requirements of Certified Wireless USB from the USB-Implementers Forum (USB-IF).
IOGEAR will be providing consumer solutions based on the AL4000 WiMedia PHY Chipset from Alereon, the Intel® Wireless UWB Link 1480 media access controller (MAC) and the NEC Electronics µPD720180 Wireless USB DWA.

IOGEAR selected Alereon following rigorous examination of available Certified Wireless USB products. Alereon was chosen based on performance, cost, ease of integration and expertise in the UWB and Wireless USB space.
