Joshua Bower-Saul

Joshua Bower-Saul serves as an Advisor to Mobility Ventures on cross-border venture opportunities. Joshua is currently the CEO of London UK based Cybertonica, an innovator in the loyalty, online advertising and transaction analysis sector. Joshua was previously the Managing Partner & Co-founder of Origen Capital and InnovExpand, a London based boutique advisory firm focusing exclusively on delivering DISRUPTIVE VALUE CREATION through growth strategies and creative innovation. This includes working with early stage technology opportunities, start-ups, growth companies as well as corporate innovation. Joshua has over 20 years’ experience in innovative project finance, emerging markets strategy, with a focus on networks, media and mobile services market development. Over the last 15 years Joshua has directed a dozen SME and start-up investments. His career began in strategy consulting in London advising media companies, server and network companies at the beginning of mobile and internet markets in the mid-1990s. Seeking a larger P&L and corporate development experience, he designed the growth and acquisitions strategy in Europe of a $2 billion USD automotive service chain making the brand Carglass (Autoglass) into a global business.  Joshua was among the founders of Europe’s biggest webstreaming business Canalweb in early 2000 and created Canalweb corporate, the online media partner of DAVOS and the World Bank, as well as the first-ever UGC channels on the web, and has worked on mobile strategy for the early Mobile industry in several countries. Joshua later started Musikangels (the project that became the crowd-funding platform now known as MyMajorCompany), designing the concept of a crowd-funded resource for “long-tail projects” known as the Angels-X engine.  He has advised board rooms on innovation strategy, and as a speaker and lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley – Haas School of Business and INSEAD.

Joshua has notably served as boardroom advisor to leading Russian regional telecoms businesses on innovation.  He co-founded the innovation-impact conference i-7Summit in 2010.  Joshua is a fund raiser and initiator of project investments from Russia to Beijing and from London to Palo Alto. His work in renewable energy finance and sustainable development investments includes agro-conservation and new technology for biofuel production.  Joshua is also an investor and Director of Operations at the Bay Area start-up Yasmo Live, a mobile app that brings social networks to the workplace and the conference floor.

Joshua holds a BA from Wesleyan University and is a graduate of Harvard University with a MA in Political Science and a MBA from INSEAD.  He is fluent in Russian, French and English.
