Roman Kikta to Speak at South Africa’s Inaugural Technology Showcase: “Innovation Bridge”
The Innovation Bridge Technology Showcase and Matchmaking event scheduled for February 2 – 3, 2015 and held at the CSIR Convention Centre, Pretoria is an initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and is intended to provide national and international technology-based companies, technology development partners, entrepreneurs, investors and financiers with first-hand insights and access to the country’s premier publicly funded technologies.
In 2015, the inaugural Innovation Bridge event is brought to you by the DST together with its partners ‑ the National Intellectual Property Management Office, the Technology Innovation Agency and the Southern African Research and Innovation Management Office.
The event will include technology exhibitions and demonstrations with up to 75 technologies from more than 30 publicly funded R&D organisations. There will also be policy dialogues, plenary talks featuring Roman Kikta, discussing “Entrepreneurs in an Age of Innovation” plus one-one-one meeting opportunities that will allow:
- publicly funded researchers, innovators, technology developers and entrepreneurs to present their technology offerings;
- local and international technology-based companies, entrepreneurs and financiers to scout for technology solutions and investment opportunities;
- government and industry to be exposed to technology solutions and partnerships to explore opportunities for joint delivery on joint socio-economic development imperatives.
By providing a structured platform for engagement and networking, the Innovation Bridge is intended to bridge the gap between innovators, industry and funding partners to accelerate the development and commercialisation of technologies derived from publicly funded R&D.
