Edward Fernandez is a Venture Partner focused on Latin America at Mobility Ventures who is a 20+ year wireless industry executive with solid corporate, operational experiences and strong entrepreneurial instincts in building a global wireless leader. He has several years experience working as a venture partner and senior advisor with Genesis Campus Funds on converged telecommunications technologies, wireless hardware and software, applications and Latin America market opportunities.
Edward was with Nokia Mobile Phones since 1993 serving as Founder and President of Nokia do Brasil Ltda based in São Paulo, Brazil and was responsible for establishing Nokia’s initial presence in Brazil. For over a decade, he built and led an organization of over 100 and went from 3% market share to over 50%, with P&L responsibility for over US$600 million in yearly sales revenues. Edward had initially joined Nokia serving as Director of Sales for Latin America Region responsible for all business development and channel sales activities in Central and South America. He developed and implemented sales strategies and Marketing plans that lead the company to market leadership in the region.
Prior to Nokia, Edward held executive positions with A&A Connections Inc., responsible for Latin America region sales activities and was the Founder of NorthEastern Telecom (NET) based in New Jersey.
Edward is a graduate of Rutgers University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Marketing and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business. Edward is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
